Edmund H. Garahan

Chief Executive Officer

A recognized expert in multiple aspects of development and construction, Ed provides visionary leadership while overseeing the wide-ranging activities of The Carbon Companies. In his more than 35 years in the industry, Ed has directed – or was instrumental to the construction and development of – thousands of multi-family units, more than 40 hotels, 250 restaurants, multiple office buildings, numerous hospitals and healthcare facilities, and many industrial projects.

Kurt E. Jones

Chief Operating Officer

As a partner in The Carbon Companies and a 40-year track record of excellence, Kurt brings proven talent and insight to every Carbon project. He leads the development and construction teams, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and on budget. Kurt’s background includes a degree in Building Construction from Texas A&M University and experience in building single-family custom homes, single family attached, office, retail, and more than 32,000 multi-family units. The depth and breadth of his construction knowledge provides our clients the added benefit of having a seasoned problem solver expediting their projects.

John C. Hood

Chief Financial Officer

John’s extensive background and skill in accounting and financial strategies make him the ideal person to manage Carbon’s corporate accounting and tax activities. He maintains strong relationships with banks and other financial institutions while providing critical, in-depth fiscal analysis for each Carbon venture.

Travis E. Jones, Esq.

Vice President & General Counsel

As a vital member of the Carbon team since 1996, Travis plays an active role in the development, design, and construction of all Carbon projects. He oversees all project management teams, as well as all field operations, and is responsible for the overall coordination, communication, scope of work, schedule, contracts, and budget of all Carbon projects. He has been instrumental in the development and construction of over 3,500 multi-family units. Travis is a licensed attorney and member of the State Bar of Texas, with degrees from Texas A&M University and Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. His expertise in project management, risk allocation, and cost value analysis allows Carbon to consistently meet project deadlines and fiscal projections.

Tracy Y. Granzin

Vice President, Administration & Operations

An integral part of the Carbon team since the company’s inception in 1990, Tracy oversees and implements key parts of the development process relating to contract and loan administration. She and her team skillfully manage the loan draw process, accounts payable, cost accounting and cash management, and also handle administrative office duties.

Katrina Hoover

Construction Contract Administrator

We take great pride in partnering with the best craftsmen possible to deliver the best product possible. In her role as our construction contract administrator, Katrina helps us achieve that goal by building strong relationships and a team attitude with our family of sub-contractors and vendors.  She specializes in contracts, insurance, job costing, budgets, accounts payable and accounts receivable.  With over 18 years in the construction business, Katrina has experience in virtually every category of construction, including high-rises, heavy highway, commercial, medical, warehouses, restaurants, retail and multi-family.

Sharon Parker

HR Director

One of the biggest challenges in today’s complex business world is staying on top of the ever-changing area of Human Resources.  And we’re proud to say we’ve got one of the best in the field.  Sharon is a veteran of over of 25 years in the construction & landscaping business and has experience in almost every aspect of office administration. Sharon manages Carbon's payroll and employee benefit programs and assists with corporate and field office administration. 

Suzie Good

Controller

There is no more important aspect in the construction and management process than cost control. It’s a number one priority at The Carbon Companies. Since graduating with a BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University in 1994, Suzie has gained a world of diverse experience in industries ranging from construction to equities to transportation to telecommunications.  For Carbon, Suzie reviews and maintains up to date financials, job cost reports, and taxes for all of our many projects and entities. 

Victor Aguilar

Director of Operations
Carbon Thompson Multifamily Management

A native of Boulder, Colorado, Victor brought his real estate knowledge to Carbon Thompson Multifamily Management in 2006 after several years of service with Cornerstone Realty Income Trust and Colonial Properties Trust. He currently holds the CAPS (Certified Apartment Portfolio Specialist) designation from the National Apartment Association. Victor is responsible for financial management, property performance and evaluation, strategic planning, vendor relations, policy formulation and business team building and training.
